It has been so long since I last posted here that I thought I would catch you up. To the left you can see our four jack-o-lanterns from Halloween.
We had an adorable dinosaur costume that had come in a box of clothes we had gotten from Connie. He looked adorable in it and it fit perfectly by the time Halloween rolled around. Only problem was that he didn't want to wear it. About 30 minutes before it got dark he decided he wanted to "trick a treat". I told him no costume, no going out. He still wouldn't wear it. I asked him if he wanted to be a cowboy as he has a horse he can wear that he plays in and I could make him look like a cowboy fairly easily, but that also met with a resounding no. The only other thing I had in the house was a cheap, thin sheet. I told him he could go as a ghost, and he pulled the sheet over his head and said YES a ghost. So I cut eye and hand holes in the sheet and cut excess fabric off around his feet so he could walk. You can see in the side bar to the right that he looked very much like the Charlie Brown ghost costumes. That was the only picture as he did not want to stand still long enough for me to shoot anymore. So Wilem ghost and daddy went off to trick or treat while I cooked dinner.
That is all of our exciting news, to read about Thanksgiving look below. While supposedly the raise for Kirk has gone through he has yet to see it in his paycheck. It has now been almost two months since the paperwork was filled out. At this rate his promotion will go through before the raise he was promised earlier. This has him extremely frustrated. He keeps kicking himself for not applying for a job that pays really well and has benefits but when the market crashed and employment became unstable he opted to stay where he was, especially since they were promising him a raise. Keep your fingers crossed that it goes through soon!
I had to do another new website as when the market went south, the company that I had used for my website lost it's funders and they shut down. So I found a new site and built my pages once again. My new website is here

Early Winter News
We went to Grandma Martha's house for Thanksgiving. Wilem insisted on bringing some of his favorite cars to play with, and he had to bring two of each type so that Gary could play too. So two dump trucks, two helicopters, two motorcycles and two tanker trucks and the three of us traveled over Afton mountain to Waynesboro for Thanksgiving.
After a few hours at mom's we headed over to visit with Great Grandpa Jim and Dorothy for a little while before heading home. I tried to take some picture of Wilem with his great granpa, but grandpa's hearing aid was making a high pitched sound and Wilem didn't like it. Then when he turned it off and took it out to show it to Wilem that scared him as he wasn't to sure of the fact that great granpa could pull things out of his ears.
Wilem has grown so much since February that his winter coat no longer fits. The sleeves are about two inches too short. With his mittens on you can't tell as they are big but we are on a hunt for a new winter coat. We got boots the other day, as it keeps threatening to snow and he is already asking to go out and build snowmen so I know when we do get a snow there will be no keeping him inside.
He's finally showing interest in potty training. Even though we have had a little fit on seat for our toilet for a year now and he knows that he shows no interest in it. However I noticed he kept pretending that a tiny box was a potty so we bought one of the little stand alone potties for him last week. He was so excited that he has his own potty. He will go over to it and pull down his pants and sit on it a few times a day (he wont take his diaper off though, but little steps). He also talks about it a lot and talks about how other people use the potty, so I think we are finally going to get this process going forward. YAY.
He is getting very good at counting. We have a series of learning games that grandma Martha picked up at an auction, and one of them has little dinosaur figures and game very similar to Parcheesi and we will play that a couple of times a week. He stays focused for the most part and will count for his dinosaur to move and even spins the spinner himself (though he sometimes wants to just put the needle on a number - however to give him credit it isn't always a high number :) )
Now when he wants to do something or asks for something and I say No, he responds with "I want you to say Yes mommie" to which I respond, "I know you do, but I am saying No."
He loves to eat Chinese food and asks for it every day. I have to love his enthusiasm for things he likes. I eat a lot of soup and he has discovered he likes the Butternut Squash soup by Campbells - one of their V8 soups in the green boxes, as well as the Broccoli soup by of the same variety.
